Nazareth Light Rail Lev HaMifratz Station

“Merkazit HaMifratz” Station – Nofit Haifa–Nazareth LRT Project
We’re proud to be part of the design of Merkazit HaMifratz Station, a central interchange station within the Nofit Haifa–Nazareth Light Rail Transit (LRT) — one of Israel’s most ambitious public transportation projects, connecting Haifa to the Galilee through sustainable and efficient transit.
Located in a highly sensitive seismic zone with challenging soil conditions, the station design demanded a precise and integrated approach, combining geotechnical awareness with advanced structural and architectural planning.
Engineering & Design Highlights:
• Multidisciplinary planning in a seismic and geotechnically complex environment
• Structural and architectural design developed entirely in Autodesk Revit using a full BIM methodology
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA) conducted in SOFiSTiK, including consideration of soil-structure interaction
• Parametric modelling and geometry control using Rhino + Grasshopper
• Coordination across systems and disciplines using 3D modelling and clash detection
• Design focused on accessibility, constructability, and operational flow
“Merkazit HaMifratz” is a critical transportation node serving trains, buses, and the new LRT line, designed to meet the needs of a growing urban region and to support the national shift toward mass transit.
